About The Artist

Located in the community of Beamsville, Ontario, in the heart of the Niagara Pennisula, Whispering Woods Studio was home and sanctuary to artist Dave Davies and his wife Bev.

Originally a “Sunday” painter, when he retired from a career as a Real Estate Broker and Appraiser, David began workshops with William Biddle, a well known Dundas artist, who helped him develop his techniques and style.

David’s intense interest in conservation and the environment, has been a large influence in his outdoor and woodland paintings, but almost any scene or subject he captures in photographs, will eventually find its way into a painting.

David finds watercolours a truly enjoyable and relaxing vocation in his retirement years, and he has had a number of exhibitions in the Niagara area, with three of his paintings having been purchased by a local winery for their wine labels. His paintings have gone not only across Canada and the U.S.A, but also to the U.K, Europe, Japan and Australia.
